About the Artist
Based in Southern California, Brett Coats draws inspiration from the region's coastal landscapes, canyon wilderness, and the play of light on the Pacific. His work bridges ancient ceramic traditions with a distinctly West Coast sensibility.
Each creation begins with locally sourced materials and unfolds through a process of wedging, turning, and burning (Raku)—a transformation that Brett describes as “letting the clay remember the earth it came from.”
Commissions
Brett accepts a limited number of commissions each year, working closely with collectors to create personal works of art.
